TEA Summer Leadership Academy

Welcome to the TEA Summer Leadership Academy!

REGISTER HERE for the 2026 TEA Summer Leadership Academy will be held June 4-6, 2026 in Franklin/Cool Springs.

Summer Leadership Academy is where educators come together to build relationships, organize with purpose, and turn shared values into collective action for strong public schools.

Public education does not defend or improve itself. It is strengthened by people who are willing to listen, step forward, and lead together. The Tennessee Education Association Summer Leadership Academy (SLA) is designed for exactly that work.

This year’s Academy is built around POWER—a leadership framework that reflects how change actually happens in schools and communities: through relationships, organization, shared responsibility, and collective courage. POWER is not a theory. It is a practice—one educators can use immediately in their locals, worksites, and communities.

Breakout sessions are grounded in the real work of local associations and include structured discussions, hands-on skill building, and peer learning designed to be immediately useful back home. Dedicated sessions will be offered for education support professionals, and programming is designed to meet participants wherever they are in their leadership journey.

Summer Leadership Academy is open to all association officers, representatives, and members—whether you are:

  •  stepping into leadership for the first time,

  •  looking to strengthen your local’s organizing and engagement, or

  •  ready to deepen your impact and help develop others.

There is no limit on the number of participants a local association may send. Certificates of attendance will be provided upon completion of all session evaluations.

Please review the FAQs and hotel information prior to registering.

The work ahead is collective. The moment is now.
Join us to build POWER—together.
