The Student Tennessee Education Association (STEA) is a pre-professional organization for those aspiring to become educators. Through its affiliation with the Tennessee Education Association (TEA) and the National Education Association (NEA), we are the largest collegiate program for Aspiring Educators, with over 45,000 members nationally on over 1,100 campuses. Here in Tennessee, we have over 2,200 members on our 42 campuses, including community colleges and four-year colleges and universities around the state.

STEA focuses on the four core values of Educator Quality, Community Outreach, Political Action, and Racial/Social Justice. While the four core values guide the work of our organization, STEA is a student-led organization with leadership structures at the campus, state, and national levels. As an Aspiring Educator, we hope you join us as a member and take advantage of the professional support, leadership opportunities, and member benefits listed and linked below.

For high school students interested in exploring the education profession, Educators Rising serves as the high school pre-professional pathway into the educator pipeline. Educators Rising provides students with early opportunities to explore education careers, develop leadership and professional skills, and build a bridge from high school into collegiate Aspiring Educator programs like STEA.

Together, Educators Rising and STEA create a connected pre-professional pathway for future educators—from exploring the profession in high school to preparing for the classroom through college and educator preparation programs.
